Heavy Duty Tyre Pressure Monitors (TPMS)

Promata’s Truck, Heavy Vehicle and Fleet TPMS solutions are engineered for Australian operators who need absolute reliability across long distances, high heat and harsh conditions.

TPMS tracks tyre pressure and temperature in real time - alerting you the moment something goes wrong. Sudden pressure loss, air leaks and overheating tyres are detected before they turn into major hazards such as blowouts and wheel bearing seizures. Alongside improved safety, you also benefit from improved fuel economy, longer tyre life and fewer costly roadside breakdowns. Trucks in operation make money and are crucial to the proper functioning of the economy.

Why Us, Why Now

With TPMS already mandatory for heavy vehicles in regions such as the United States, European Union, China and India, Australia is likely to follow soon - making now the perfect time to adopt reliable monitoring.

Promata’s TPMS kits are engineered from the ground up for Australian conditions. They also allow any Promata-equipped truck to connect with any Promata-equipped trailer. The system automatically detects when this happens, making dropping-and-hooking a breeze - no manual pairing required.

We offer telematics integration (through CANBus or RS232) so you have the option to monitor your fleets remotely - even when vehicles are off. With this, both drivers and office support can see real-time tyre data.

For single vehicles, you’ll find three options below. If you have questions, need multiple units or require a customised solution, please reach out to us via the following methods:

Frequently Asked Questions

How many tyres can our TPMS kits monitor?

The Mata T2 can monitor up to 14 tyres making it ideal for rigid truck or heavy vehicles in construction and mining.

The Mata 7 can monitor up to 34 tyres making it ideal for trucks with a single trailer.

The Mata 7S can monitor up to 110 tyres and up to 6 trailers making it ideal for multi-trailer trucks and roadtrains.

Can monitoring tyre pressure and temperature improve safety?

Absolutely. A reported 40% of heavy vehicle road traffic accidents are caused by tyre failure. The implementation of a TPMS system will significantly reduce the occurrence of both tyre failures by warning you before small issues turn big.

Is the system hard to install?

The installation of the TPMS display and wiring should be installed by a qualified auto-electrician. However, the TPMS sensors can be installed by yourself or a tyre fitter. We offer two types of sensors. Internal sensors are strapped around the wheel rim underneath the tyre and External sensors which are easily screwed on to the tyre valve stem - replacing the existing valve cap.

Should I use internal or external sensors?

This all depends on the number of tyres on your vehicles and how often you expect they will require maintenance. A big benefit of External TPMS sensors is that they are very easy to install making them ideal for those with many tyres. However, Internal TPMS sensors are virtually immune to external damage or temperament and have a longer battery life.

Will my investment be paid back?

Taking a conservative estimation, a 5% improvement in fuel efficiency can save up to $42 per week (assuming 500 liters consumed per week and current fuel costs of $1.7 per liter). This amounts to well over $2,000 per year in fuel savings alone so our TPMS kits pay for itself in roughly a year. Once you add in time saved, increased tyre lifespan and less downtime, a TPMS starts giving you a positive return in just months. Not even Warren Buffet can get that kind of return!
