What to Do When the TPMS Warning Light Appears on Your Toyota?
Your Toyota's tyre pressure monitoring system or TPMS is there to warn you when the air pressure in your tyres is low or when your tyres are overheating. That small but important light on your vehicle’s dashboard is more than just a reminder - it’s an early warning system designed to protect your safety, your tyres and your wallet.

When your TPMS light comes on, it’s telling you that one or more tyres are operating outside their optimal pressure range or the temperature is too high. Ignoring it might seem harmless at first, but it can quickly lead to bigger issues such as reduced fuel efficiency (as underinflated tyres create more rolling resistance), accelerated tyre wear and in worst-case scenarios, a dangerous blowout - especially at high speeds or under heavy loads.

This means you can install them yourself easily in minutes without needing to remove the tyre or visit a workshop. For many drivers, this convenience alone makes aftermarket systems an attractive option.

Cost is another major benefit. Aftermarket sensors are typically cheaper than OEM equivalents - even more so when factoring in installation cost. Despite the lower price, modern aftermarket TPMS kits are highly reliable and provide accurate, real-time pressure and temperature readings. For everyday driving and towing, they perform just as well as OEM systems.
